The PTA Executive Committee for 2017/2018On August 1st the new PTA committee took over work: Kerstin Greaves: Co-Chair, Events A German with language skills in Russian, French, Dutch, English and a kind of German! Her “final choice” fell to an Englishman - Result: 2 children (Grade 1 & Grade 4). She loves to sing, to coach and to entertain and has a lot of fun conducting the Mamma Mia Choir and helping out with the Elementary School Orchestra. Julia Clevorn: Co-Chair, Co-Volunteer Coordinator She has been at BBIS for the last 13 years and is planning on staying a few years longer until her youngest (one of three) finishes school and her oldest in 11th grade. She is one of the founding members of the Mamma Mias eight years ago. Julia can work wonders with decoration. Katharina Douglas: Secretary, Co-Volunteer Coordinator Our secretary’s heart lies in Britain. She lived there 5 years and came back to Germany with a northern Brit with whom she has 4 kids (Anne 8th, Paul 6th, Leon 4th and her last one Merle in 2nd grade). She loves singing and is one of our famous Mamma Mias. Ira Philip: Treasurer Our financials are in good hands with Ira Philip. She grew up a military child, stationed in Germany and Greece. Now married to Vinod from India, they are enjoying their time in Berlin. Their last stops were in the NRW area of Germany, and prior to that they lived in sunny Orlando, Florida. Ira and Vinod have two daughters, in 1st and 5th grade at BBIS. Ira’s career background was in both finance and accounting, ranging from personal investing at a small firm, financial analysis at a large firm, and general accounting for a nonprofit. She also has taught dance and fitness and you will still find her at the gym often. Interesting fact: Ira has a background as a ballet dancer. She danced at the Saarbruecken State Theater throughout her high school years at Ramstein. Konstanze Kobel-Hoeller: Communication, Academics Coordinator Konstanze has been at BBIS for more than eleven years with her sons Linus (now Grade 11) and David (now Grade 2), both started in EE/EC5. She has a master's degree in microbiology and works as a freelance journalist for the biggest newspaper in Brandenburg. Her earlier professional experiences also included web design, advertising, magazine editing, public relations and more in the communication area - no surprise she is responsible for communication at the PTA. As education being one of her major interests she also wanted to act as the Academics Coordinator. + + + + + Thank you to Erna Ludviksdottir (Co-Chair), Ottolien Oechies (Co-Chair), Kathy Pike (Secretary), Ira Philip (Treasurer), Kerstin Greaves (Co-Event Coordinator), Frances Durocher (Communications) and Kerri Olschner (PTA Volunteer Coordinator) who built the Executive Committee in 2016/17. |
